Improving Key City Facilities
The City of Eagan’s Central Maintenance Facility (CMF) is a hub of city activity. The facility is the site for the City’s Equipment, Streets, Park and Utility Maintenance and Water Resources Operations.
In need of some improvements, the city sought a firm to perform a space needs analysis, schematic design, final design, construction documents, cost estimating, bidding support and owner representation for remodeling and construction at the facility.
Key elements of the project include the following:
Expanding the indoor storage space and providing a vehicle wash building will extend equipment life and the wash strategies employed minimize water usage. The office lunch room and staging updates will meet current staffing space needs in a more welcoming and safe environment, as well as provide flexible use for larger gatherings and meetings.
Multiple detailed construction cost estimates were prepared throughout the project. Plans and documents were prepared for project bidding and construction. As the owner’s representative, G&M provided oversight and inspections during the construction phase.
The final aspect of this project was G&M preparing an asset management plan for the entire CMF, including site infrastructure and other site buildings.
Detailed information was collected on all the existing mechanical and electrical equipment. Replacement timelines, along with replacement costs, were provided for each piece of equipment. This will be a vital tool to aid the City in preventative maintenance in the future.
Exceptional client service, intelligent engineering.
