We like to keep busy around here. From our client projects to community service and beyond, we’re always active as a company. And this week, that rings true even more with our very own, Blake Guither (PE, BEMP, LEED AP BD+C), presenting at the 2017 Midwest University in Prior Lake. A two-day professional development conference, Midwest University is a gathering of industry experts who learn and grow while they engage with the newest ideas and emerging technologies.

More About Midwest University

This spring’s Midwest University was geared towards the architecture, engineering, construction and civil infrastructure community. There were two jam-packed days full of breakout classes, networking, interesting exhibits, great food, and exceptional keynote speakers. From the event sponsors, Autodesk and CTC, we heard industry updates and informative advice. Beyond that, several representatives from other top firms gave top-notch classes for a fully immersive and informational conference.

Blake’s Breakout Class - “Formula Driven Families”

We’re more than proud of Blake, who has 10+ years of experience here at Gausman & Moore. He has used Revit for the last six years, becoming a developer for a Revit Mechanical Productivity Pack. His expertise was perfectly suited to present at Midwest University on the topic of using Revit to streamline processes. As indicated in the title, having calculations in the families ensures results are directly driven by and connected to your dataset while also reducing the need for data entry.

In his breakout class, Blake was able to demonstrate and discuss transferring design table data from manuals directly into Revit. Additionally, attendees were able to learn how to create formulas that specifically drive data functionality in Revit, making the process smoother and more efficient. Revit is a powerful tool, and Blake’s demonstration of system connectivity was able to drive the message home.
