When students at Oak View Elementary in Maple Grove, MN decided to brave the hot, humid weather to raise money for their school, Gausman & Moore was happy to help them reach their goal.
On Sept. 14 Oak View had its “Fun Run” fundraiser, with students raising money by running sponsored laps on the school grounds. The goal of the Oak View Parent Teacher Organization (PTO) was to raise $15,000. That goal was exceeded, and then some, with the students raising more than $16,000. The money will help pay for a rock climbing wall, library improvements, and other student-centered features at the school.
As an added bonus the school’s principal, Ann Mock, will spend a night sleeping on the school’s roof.
Between the company donation and individual donations from employees, the G&M community donated several hundred dollars to the fundraiser. G&M has a personal connection to the school, with Matt Tisdell’s (Electrical Engineering, Roseville office) two daughters going to school at Oak View.
“Thanks to everyone who helped make the Fun Run a success,” said Matt. “The money will be used for a good cause and is greatly appreciated.”
