Gausman & Moore staff members had a great opportunity to meet with University of Minnesota Duluth (UMD) students and alumni at the E-Fest Job & Internship Fair, held on September 13th. Our Duluth office was represented by Jude Homola, Bryn Johnston and Zack Klein. Jude, Bryn and Zack met with more than 50 people to learn about their skills and career interests. It was a terrific networking opportunity for both job seekers and employers.

Career fairs are ideal for meeting with qualified and determined job candidates and E-Fest provided an excellent venue. Located in the Kirby Student Center ballroom on the UMD campus, E-Fest had plenty of space for businesses and job candidates. Adding to the setting is that UMD has a successful science and engineering program, meaning many of the students in attendance were high-quality candidates, said Zack Klein (Mechanical Engineering, Duluth office).

“Many of the students were very well spoken and knowledgeable about Gausman and Moore. Most of them had their career goals set and were excited about the opportunities presented at E-fest. Some had previous intern experience relevant to our industry. The best candidates had a combination of all these qualities and were very good at leading the conversation as well as marketing themselves as to why they would be the best candidate,” said Zack.

Exposure for businesses and students is a key benefit to attending career fairs. Face-to-face interaction with different recruiters gives students the chance to learn more about different companies and meet some of the people they might work with. Likewise, businesses are able to promote their services and see if there are quality job candidates that can help them grow and be successful.

Thanks to all the students who attended E-Fest and stopped by our booth!
