Kalysta Davis Becomes LEED Green Associate

After extensive studying and a challenging test, Kalysta Davis (Mechanical Engineering, Duluth Office) is now a LEED Green Associate. Kalysta learned of her achievement on Nov. 15. Gausman & Moore is committed to LEED guidelines and currently has 12 LEED Accredited Professionals on staff.

Great Turnout at UMD’s E-Fest Job & Internship Fair

Gausman & Moore staff members had a great opportunity to meet with University of Minnesota Duluth (UMD) students and alumni at the E-Fest Job & Internship Fair, held on September 13th. Our Duluth office was represented by Jude Homola, Bryn Johnston and Zack Klein. Jude, Bryn and Zack met with more than 50 people to learn about their skills and career interests. It was a terrific networking opportunity for both job seekers and employers.

G&M Contributes to Little League Team’s Trip to Regional Tournament

When the Western Duluth Little League baseball team qualified for the Central Region Intermediate tournament in Kalamazoo, MI, Gausman & Moore’s Duluth office helped them fund their exciting trip. The team, comprised mostly of 13-yeAnchorar olds from western Duluth, finished 2-2 for a fifth place finish in the July tournament.

Duluth Staff Members Participate in Scholarship Fundraiser

It was a great day for golf at the AIA Northern MN golf outing at Enger Park Golf Course in Duluth on Friday, July 14. Our own Jude Homola (Mechanical Engineering, Duluth Office) and Bryn Johnston (Mechanical Engineering, Duluth Office) participated in the event, which helps raise money for the AIA Northern MN scholarship fund.

Three G&M Projects Featured in Latest Issue of Architecture MN

Gausman & Moore’s engineering expertise and highly qualified Duluth staff is currently on full display in the latest issue of Architecture MN. The July/August 2017 issue includes articles about three projects in the Duluth area that featured G&M’s engineering services. The cover story highlights the headquarters building for Maurices in downtown Duluth. Other projects featured in the issue include the St. Louis County Government Service Center in Duluth, and Weber Music Hall on the University of Minnesota Duluth campus.

G&M Attends Minnesota Healthcare Engineers Association Spring Conference

Gausman & Moore has been an active member of the Arrowhead Chapter of the Minnesota Healthcare Engineers Association (MHCEA) http://www.mhcea.org/ for 16 years. MHCEA is a Region 6 Chapter of the American Society for Healthcare Engineering (ASHE). The membership includes hospital and nursing home facility managers and affiliate members. Continuing education is the primary focus of the organization. State Fire Marshalls and Minnesota Department of Health (MDH) regulators are regular presenters at Spring and Fall Conferences.

Lake Superior Design Retreat

A design conference scheduled in the middle of winter in Duluth, MN might seem unusual, but for 29 years 100-plus architects have attended the Lake Superior Design Retreat. On the shores of Lake Superior, the conference always attracts fascinating and fun presenters. This keeps the architects coming back annually, braving the typically very cold and very snowy climate. Gausman & Moore has proudly sponsored and attended the conference for most of its 29 years.

Supporting Academic Excellence

On Wednesday, May 3rd Gausman & Moore will sponsor a table at the 23rd Annual Proctor-Hermantown “Excellence in Education” Banquet. Scott Haedtke, Senior Associate and Duluth Office Manager, who resides in the Proctor District, will host a table that will include a Proctor student, their parents, and a teacher selected by the student as having the most influence on their education. The banquet will recognize 28 students who are the academic top 10 percent of their graduating classes.
