G&M President Joins Local Optimist Club

Optimist International is an organization committed to spreading a message of hope and positivity. This has led to the creation of local Optimist Clubs throughout the country, including the Roseville Area Optimist Club near Gausman & Moore’s Roseville, MN office. The club recently recognized its newest member, the 100th person in the club – G&M President Ed Studniski.

Dave Blume Celebrates 25th Anniversary at G&M

In February 1993 Bill Murray ruled the box office with “Groundhog Day.” Whitney Houston dominated the music charts with “I Will Always Love You,” and the nation’s favorite TV shows featured stand-up comedians (Jerry Seinfeld, Roseanne Barr, and Tim Allen) making the transition to sitcoms (Seinfeld, Roseanne, and Home Improvement).

Gov. Dayton Appoints Dave Blume to State Board

Dave Blume (Partner, Roseville Office) was recently appointed to a state board by Gov. Mark Dayton. Blume, an electrical engineer, was appointed to the Board of Architecture, Engineering, Land Surveying, Landscape Architecture, Geoscience, and Interior Design. Dave will serve a four-year term.

Jim Manning Speaks to Local 6th Graders

Jim Manning (Partner, Roseville Office) recently had the opportunity to share his engineering expertise with area sixth graders. At the request of his sixth grade nephew, Jim volunteered at an all-day event at Chippewa Middle School in North Oaks, MN on May 10. The classes were asked to design and construct shelters for their ice “penguins” to keep them from melting in the “sun” created by the heat lamps in a hot box.

"Wellness" at the Impact Conference

“Wellness” was a prominent theme at this year’s USGBC MN Impact Conference. Approximately 300 people attended this year’s conference, conducted on May 3rd at the St. Paul RiverCentre. Gausman & Moore was actively involved in this year’s conference, with six attendees, a presenter, and a steering committee member. Mark Leutgeb (Business Development, Roseville Office), introduced two WELL presentations: “Using Wellness to Define Your Corporate Culture” and “Well-Being the New Frontier.”

Firm MVP Amanda Hill Moonlights as Storm Chaser, Photographer

Since she was a little girl, Amanda Hill (Electrical Designer, Roseville office), has been fascinated by weather. She kept a daily weather journal, gave weather reports in science classes, and saw her first tornado as a pre-teen. This fascination has never left Amanda, and she currently spends many weeks during the year chasing storms and capturing the beauty and wonder of storms with her camera.

Anthony Basden Attends ACEC National Conference as Recipient of ACEC/MN Emerging Leader Scholarship

Anthony Basden (Electrical Engineer, Roseville office) recently had the opportunity to soak up both the knowledge of industry leaders and historic sites in Washington DC. From April 23rd to 26th, Anthony attended the American Council of Engineering Companies (ACEC) National Conference in Washington DC. This experience was possible through a $1,000 "Emerging Leaders" Scholarship from the ACEC Minnesota chapter, and additional funding from Gausman & Moore.
