Location: Santa Clarita, CA
Job Description: Gausman & Moore’s electrical engineers work individually and lead interdisciplinary teams. Engineers are given work assignments in keeping with their skills and experience but are challenged to expand their capabilities. Assignments include any combination of computer-aided modeling, document production, design work, technical research and documentation, and development of specifications. Our projects are nationwide and involve electrical design and work sharing challenges for our core clients in the vertical construction market.
Work Activities: Engineers will work with Computer-Aided Design and Drafting (CADD) software including AutoCAD, Revit (BIM), and Microstation (BIM); Trane Trace; EnergyPro; Comcheck; perform design work including sizing mechanical systems and the complete deisgn of HVAC and Pluming systems including load calculations; energy code calculations; and perform quality control. Microsoft Office applications such as Outlook, Excel, and Word are in continuous use. Engineers are expected to lead teams to meet deadlines for clearly defined deliverables, do field work, interact with clients and code officials, and attend client meetings both in person and by telephone.
Qualifications: You must be hard working, diligent, sincere, active, and enthused about the job in order to succeed. Adaptability and the ability to learn are important, as are good written and verbal skills, and strong understanding of electrical concepts. Competence in the use of computers for design, office tasks, research, and documentation is required. Good written and verbal skills and proficiency in TraneTrace, and Microsoft Office programs is a must. Experience in both AutoCAD and REVIT programs is preferred.
Education: Associate’s degree or technical school training in mechanical design.
Experience: A minimum of ten years’ experience in mechanical design of vertical construction. Your experience should show increasing responsibility and professional development.
Schedule: Our staff has the choice to work nine hours per day, four days per week, and four hours per day on the fifth day for a total of 40 hours per week or work five eight hour days. Specific working hours are flexible. Overtime work may be expected.
