Position/Role: Managing Sr. Associate, Duluth, MN

Contact: shaedtke@gausman.com

Education and experience: I have a degree in Electrical design from Anoka Technical Institute, a division of the State of Minnesota State university system. I began my career with Gausman and Moore in May of 1989. In July/August of 1989 Gausman and Moore opened the new Duluth branch office. In November of 1989 I relocated and have remained in this area since. As a project manager, I have and continue to managed small and large commercial, institutional, retail, healthcare, industrial and government projects. Now, as the Managing Sr. Associate for the Duluth office, I continue my project management roles as well as providing leadership in project oversight, quality control and interdisciplinary coordination while marketing to and building relationships with existing and potential clients.

What’s your favorite part of the job? Having the privilege to interact and work with the staff and clients we have. Our most valuable resource is our staff. Without the quality individuals that I have the privilege of working with, the expectation of high quality work would be challenging. Our positive and open communication between staff and clients help keep even the most difficult times fun.

Witnessing and being part of the company and staff participate in out of office activities, from supporting local non-profit organizations to volunteer work, is another testament to the high character and integrity that we all hold close.

What do you like to do when you’re not working? My family is the single most important part of my life. My wife Karen, daughter Kassie, and son Matthew share my passion for the outdoors. Boating, camping, fishing, hunting, snowmobiling and various other outdoor activities keep us very entertained. Both of our kids are active soccer players providing me with opportunities to have coached for 12+ years. My son’s true passion for hockey has quickly grown for both my wife and myself.

What’s something about you that not many people know? Surviving several near-death experiences have truly shown me how blessed I am to be surrounded by a family that would make most jealous.
