Position: Electrical Project Manager

Job Description: Gausman & Moore’s electrical Project Managers work individually and in interdisciplinary teams. Project Managers are given work assignments in keeping with their skills and experience but are expected to be able to manage the production of multiple projects simultaneously and are challenged to expand their capabilities. Assignments include any combination of project types and require management of document production, design work, technical research and documentation, development of specifications, and client interaction. Our projects are nationwide and involve electrical design and work sharing challenges for our core clients in the vertical construction market.

Work Activities: Project Managers will manage project delivery via Computer-Aided Design and Drafting (CADD) software, including AutoCAD, Revit (BIM), MicroStation, and Bentley BBES (BIM); perform design work including power distribution layout and lighting design, run system analysis including load calculations, voltage drop, fault current, photometric calculations, and energy code calculations using EnergyPro and COMcheck; edit technical specifications, and perform quality control. Microsoft Office applications such as Outlook, Excel, and Word are in continuous use. Project Managers are expected to follow deadlines for clearly defined deliverables, do field work, interact with clients and code officials, and attend client meetings both in person and by telephone.

Qualifications: You must be hard working, diligent, sincere, active, and enthused about the job in order to succeed. Adaptability and the ability to learn are important, as are good written and verbal skills, and strong understanding of electrical concepts. Competence in the use of computers for design, office tasks, research, and documentation is required. Required experience includes a minimum of five years of experience in electrical project management in the vertical construction environment. Your experience should show increasing responsibility and professional development.

Education: Completion of an Associate degree or technical school training in electrical design or a Bachelor degree in electrical engineering.

Schedule: Our staff has the choice to work nine hours per day, four days per week, and four hours per day on the fifth day for a total of 40 hours per week or work five eight-hour days. Specific working hours are flexible. Overtime work may be expected.
